On yuku the email address is the account and the profiles are the names. Each account can have
several profiles and once you have logged in, you can switch between profiles.

Originally when you signed up for a new account, the system automatically filled in your real name on the second page as the username and you had to clear that field and enter a username. They have fixed this and the username field is now blank and ready for you to add a name. There is a button to push to see if the name is available for use.
One warning, if you are at a yuku board when you create the profile, your profile name will be username@boardname. If you don't want a profile with that format, go to the www.yuku.com home page to create the profile. You can also create a name without the board name extension, if you are on a profile page, any profile page. You can also use the url to create a "global" profile (on an existing account) http://www.yuku.com/account/newprofile/t/Create-New-Profile.html
This is the same whether you are creating a new account or adding a profile to an existing account. For example, if you were to create a profile "monkeyshines" from the Ape Vine, your username is monkeyshines@apevine. When you post here, your posts will show as monkeyshines but if you post elsewhere, they will show as monkeyshines.apevine. If you don't want to be @apevine/.apevine, then go to the home page to create the profile.
On the other hand if you really want a specific name and it is already taken as a global name, you will want to create the name here (or another board) and get a "localized" @boardname profile.
If you happen to be one of the people that ended up with a profile using your real name, you have a couple of options: add a new profile and use it or open a help ticket and they can change the name on the profile to something else. If the name you want is taken, they will ask you to try again or ask if you want an @boardname version.
